DCMS Colloquium Prof. Dr. Sabine Roller: Numerical methods for large scale multi-physics simulations – application, development, performance

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Sabine Roller studied technical maths (Technomathematik) at University of Karlsruhe (TU). She got her PhD in Aerospace Engineering at University of Stuttgart. She founded and lead the „Scalable Computing & Coupled Systems“ group at High Performance Computing Center Stuttgart (HLRS). At RWTH Aachen University, she held a professorship on „Applied Supercomputing in Engineering“  (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering). Since 2013, she is professor for „Simulation Techniques &  Scientific Computing“ at University of Siegen (School of Science and Technology), and Scientific Director of the Center for Information & Media Technologies (ZIMT). Her research focus is on simulation of large scale systems, including application technologies, HPC and development of numerical methods. New developments also put focus on research data management.
